Pastor Aaron
Hi, I'm Pastor Aaron Douthitt. I find great and passionate joy in teaching and preaching the Scriptures, which I think is evident in my teaching, preaching, and shepherding counsel. I believe in unapologetically and faithfully teaching through each and every book of The Bible and I find incredible delight in pastoring God's people in grace and truth. I agree with Paul, that "by the grace of God I am what I am" (1Corinthians 15:10).
I was born in Morgantown, West Virginia and grew up right outside of Uniontown, Pennsylvania in Smithfield. After coming to faith in Jesus Christ at age 17, I soon became a member of a young church plant in Uniontown, PA and served in that church for nine years under the leadership of my Pastor. I have an Associate Degree in Biblical Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Pastoral Ministry through Andersonville Theological Seminary. Additionally, I attended a church planting school in Halfmoon New York and was also approved in Texas by Baptist Bible College as a National Church Planter in 2010.
I was pressed upon by God's leading to plant "The Bridge" in Masontown PA when I was 25. In October of 2010 The Bridge held its first service with 68 people in attendance. And in 2011 Bridge Baptist Church was officially established with its first charter members. The church would later simply be known as "The Bridge."
I have been preaching and teaching since I was eighteen years old, with my first sermon preached at age eighteen. I take great pleasure in discipling others and shepherding the flock. Currently, I am 36 years old and The Bridge is 11 years old. One of my favorite Bible texts is 1 Corinthians 1:26-31.
I am married to my loving wife Amanda and we have three beautiful children (Ellavieve, Greystone, and Collin). Amanda is a bright light and a social butterfly! She is a successful and well-known photographer. Together, we are loving Jesus and all who walk through the doors of The Bridge.
Outside of preaching and teaching, I enjoy writing children's books for all three of my children, with one of those books being published by Christian Faith Publishers. I enjoy Bible reading, poetry, playing guitar, and a hot cup of coffee and, of course, pie.
I am easy to talk to and easy to contact; I'd be happy to set up a meeting with you today!
Treasurer Rob Jurosco
Hello, my name is Rob. Jesus saved my soul at the age of 17. I was raised Catholic and lived as a reckless out-of-control teenager until the Lord drew me to Himself. I have been striving to serve Him since then.
My amazing wife, Amanda, and I were sent out with Pastor Aaron to plant The Bridge in 2011. I have been serving as the Treasurer for the church since 2011.
Amanda and I are blessed to have four children: Ivan, Aria, Elias, and Hazel. I work for a plumbing and excavating contractor as an operations manager. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management from the Pennsylvania State University in 2010. I enjoy spending time with my family, camping, playing games outside, and watching movies together throughout the year. I enjoy playing sports as well, and hunting in my free time. I am also a lifelong Star Wars fan.
Deacon Dave Swaney
Hi, my name is Dave Swaney and I am a deacon at The Bridge. I was saved at a young age but never grew spiritually. At age 36 I started to attend Calvary Baptist Church in Uniontown Pa, where my mother attended. I rededicated my life to Jesus to serve Him and got involved with the van ministry for 10 years.
While attending Bethel Baptist, my wife and I heard Pastor Aaron preach and agreed if he ever started a church we wanted to be under his teaching. When we heard Pastor Aaron was planting a church in Masontown, we felt God leading us to attend the very first Sunday. We have attended ever since.
My duties are serving where needed, cleaning the church, cutting grass, etc. Also, my wife Betty and I team up together and teach discipleship classes.
We are blessed to be under such a godly pastor who has a passion for the lost. I would love to meet you, if you visit our church please stop over and say hi!
